Event description :
For Youth Week 2026, the Adelaide Hills Council and Mount Barker District Council invite young people to an inspiring screening of the documentary Future Council at Wallis Cinema, Mount Barker.
Future Council tells the powerful story of young people stepping into leadership, confronting real challenges and proving that youth voices can drive meaningful change. Through determination, collaboration and courage, the film shows what’s possible when young people are trusted to shape the future of their communities. Before and after the screening, hear from local young people as they share their experiences, ideas and hopes for positive change.
Youth Development Officers from both councils will also be available to chat, answer questions and explore pathways for getting involved.
Open to young people aged 12–25, this event is for anyone curious about leadership, civic engagement, and turning ideas into action.
Whether you’re already active or just finding your voice, this is your chance to be inspired, connect with others and imagine what’s possible when we work together
